The Jam - This Is The Modern World

For every good album that I listen to there's bound to be an awful one. Enter The Jam's This Is The Modern World. Although Weller said 'I don't give two fucks about your review' on the first song The Modern World, he would also admit that is the probably The Jam's weakest effort. It's the kind of thing you can't help but compare with similar punk music that was around at the time. So switch this off and put on The Clash or whatever.

To be honest, the best song on the album is the first song, The Modern World that has a bit more bite. Sure enough, there are well worked out riffs all the way through, a particularly nice one in Standards.

If you're a big fan of The Jam, don't bother with this, if you're not then buy this (only joking). Funnily enough, it still sounds better than Oasis' Standing On The Shoulder Of Giants.
