Everything

If one man knew everything,

Everything wouldn't be so fun.

(It's like travelling the world -

Sip the sights, pick them up in your pocket)

If one man born omnipotent,

One would want another

And another would still want his mother.

(It's like swimming in boiling water -

Green, closer waves, blue, colour of your eyes)

If one man ruled the libraries,

Bookshops would make no profit.

And it may be like sinking on a yacht

And it may be like learning to float

Mythical Leader

Mythical destroyer,
Who banished, overpowered, undermined,
Left burn marks on the ground
Racing on your stallion
Like a Norse god you flew
To punish our enemies.
You lived in a castle
With great turrets and hanged intruders,
You who punished disobedience
And praised the world on churches.
Spearing through chain-mail
Gauging out eyes
Staring at tinged skies
And spirits who called your name.
Hand out some of your strength
Let it ventilate through our souls
So we can fly
And breathe fire.

Younger

Younger, an age ago,
The circus played
Every now we walked inside
And played harmonica
Ate candy-floss
Watched the circus.

When, an age gone past, a generation,
I watched a grand show
Colours blew the place, a palace,
Sound was music, it was funny,
Memories might get better
Memories can be too grand.

Wires were few, when I was young
We walked the parks, cycled boulevards,
Tore it apart with joy
I had toys and buoyant friends
We did not want your video recorders
We wanted to be boys, it was funny

Before, faded memory,
I looked after hungry animals
That whined, we dined, I couldn't eat,
In school where we fought and cried
I climbed on somebody's back
And smiled.
