Paul McCartney - Flaming Pie

Ah…Paul McCartney, still around, making lots of money, bringing out records, he could be ninety-six and people would still think he has a pretty face. Some things never change. He's also had more number 1s than everyone else put together (exaggeration). Why? It's because, however much you want to be sarcastic about it, he's a great composer of pop songs.

The World Tonight is a great sounding tune. Wait a second…it sounds a bit like bluesy Led Zeppelin, actually no…it sounds like middle of the road Beatles.
Somedays is a nice acoustic effort, though I hope he wasn't thinking Yesterday again, 'somedays I laugh, I laugh to think how young we were'.
Young Boy is my favourite song on Flaming Pie, highlighting the romantic that is McCartney, 'he's just a young boy looking for a way to find love'.
Calico Skies sounds a bit like Blackbird (the White Album), only a bit though. It's yet another great romantic song, 'I'll hold you for as long as you like, I'll hold you for the rest of my life'.

Paul McCartney ain't much of a rocker. Even less now that he's lost some of his voice. But he's still got that ability to know by ear. And yes, I'd rather listen to this than Travis any day, even yesterday.
